Freelance/Setup Crew

As a freelance setup crew member, I support a wide range of live events, productions, and corporate shows by handling the technical and physical setup required for each project. My work involves preparing and installing audio, visual, and lighting equipment, setting up staging elements, and ensuring all technical components are ready for smooth operation.

I work closely with event organizers, production teams, and clients on-site to respond to last-minute needs, troubleshoot issues, and maintain clear communication throughout the event. Whether it’s a concert, corporate event, studio production, or live show, I focus on delivering reliable support, efficient setup, and professional results.

Title: Craft My Day
Story: This is an interview and a live demo of a handkerchief expert

Role: I volunteered as a talent for this production, and through the experience, I learned how to respond to the director’s cues to deliver the reactions needed for the team to capture. I also gained insight into the importance of conducting pre-interviews for studio live segments, as they help prepare the interviewee, reduce awkwardness, and streamline the overall production process.

Role: I was assigned the role of a talent for this production, portraying a drug addict who influences his friend into taking drugs, ultimately leading to her death. Through this experience, I learned how specific shots and expressions are crucial in conveying the emotional tone of the film, and how a single well-executed take can significantly enhance a scene. I also gained a deeper understanding of the preparation process behind a short film, especially how essential teamwork and communication are in bringing the story together.

Title: A Legacy of Care
Story: A Legacy of Care tells the story of a father and son whose lives have been closely intertwined with Raffles Medical Group. From the son's birth at Raffles Hospital and the care he received growing up with asthma, to the compassionate care shown to his father in his later years, the film reflects how care can accompany us through every stage of life.

Told through a heartfelt letter from a father to his son, this moving story celebrates the enduring impact of compassion and reminds us that while life may come full circle, the care we give today can leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.

Role: I was tasked with the role of an AP which stands for Assistant Producer for the whole production. Where I would assist my producer that is in charge of the project. By assisting him, I was tasked with casting actors for the production. By casting the actors, I'm directly in contact with them thus giving me the ability to liaise with  the actors directly. During production itself, I'm the AP thus I took care majority of the crew needs such as food, snacks and places to eat and store the equipments.

Title: Working Hard But Getting NOWHERE (Podcast Episode)
Story: In this episode, Deema sits down with Dinesh, Franky, Wei and Sebastian to unpack the uncomfortable questions beneath the headlines.

Are younger generations really less driven?
Or are they navigating challenges previous generations never had to face?
Who gets labelled as ambitious?
Who gets labelled as entitled?
How do race, class, privilege, discrimination and opportunity shape our understanding of success?
Why are some people praised for being hungry while others are judged for not being enough?
And who decided what "enough" looks like in the first place?

This isn't a conversation about who is right and who is wrong. It's a conversation about whose experiences get heard, whose experiences get dismissed, and why so many people feel like they're being measured by a standard they never helped create.

Role: As the producer of this podcast episode, I was responsible for overseeing the entire recording process and ensuring that the client was provided with the agreed-upon equipment and production requirements. I managed the setup and preparation of the studio, ensuring everything was in place and ready before recording began. Throughout the session, I also took care of the client’s needs and ensured they had a smooth and professional experience while using the studio.
